Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This policy explains what information Peace Thru Forgiveness (“PTF”, “we”) collects through peacethruforgiveness.org, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. If anything is unclear, please write to us.

Who we are

Peace Thru Forgiveness is a project founded by Azim Khamisa. PTF is fiscally sponsored by the Maitreya Institute, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (tax ID 99-0229637), which receives donations made through this website. You can reach us about privacy at azim@azimkhamisa.com.

What we collect and why

  • When you donate: your name, email address, donation amount and frequency (one-time or monthly), and anything you choose to add, such as a comment or a request to give anonymously. We use this to process your gift, send your receipt, manage recurring donations, and keep the records nonprofits are required to keep. Card and bank details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • When you join our newsletter: your name and email address, so we can send you news from Azim and PTF. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • When you contact us or ask to book Azim: what you type into the form, such as your name, email, phone number, organization, address and event details. We use it only to reply to you and plan the event.
  • When you leave a comment: your name, email and comment. Your name and comment may be shown publicly; your email is not.
  • When you visit the site: basic technical information that every website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. Our hosting and security services use it to keep the site running, fast and safe.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers.

Services that help us run the site

We use trusted service providers who handle information on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe processes donations and helps prevent fraud, including with a security check called hCaptcha (stripe.com/privacy).
  • Constant Contact sends our newsletter (constantcontact.com/legal/privacy-center).
  • GoDaddy hosts the website and counts visits in aggregate. Cloudflare delivers and protects it.
  • Google (Gmail) sends emails from the site, such as donation receipts and form replies.
  • YouTube and Spotify play the videos and podcast episodes embedded on our pages.
  • LearnWorlds hosts Azim’s online courses. When you follow a link to a course, LearnWorlds’ own terms and privacy policy apply.

We share donor information with our fiscal sponsor, the Maitreya Institute, as needed to receipt and report donations. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our visitors and the site.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Ours are used for:

  • Security and essential functions: Cloudflare and Stripe use cookies to block bots and prevent fraud, especially on the donation form. The site may also set a short session cookie.
  • Visit counts: our host, GoDaddy, sets cookies that count visits in aggregate.
  • Embedded media: YouTube and Spotify may set cookies when their players load on a page.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, although embedded videos, podcasts or the donation form may not.

How long we keep information

We keep donation records for as long as nonprofit and tax rules require, usually at least seven years. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Messages and booking requests are kept as long as needed to respond and plan, then deleted when no longer useful.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time with the link in any email.
  • Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to azim@azimkhamisa.com. Some donation records must be kept for legal reasons. When that applies, we’ll tell you.
  • Monthly donors can change or cancel a recurring gift at any time by contacting us.
  • If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or a US state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights under that law. We will honor valid requests.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and payments are handled by Stripe, which meets the card industry’s security standard (PCI DSS). No method of sending or storing information online is 100% secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
